The Calgary walking club had hoped to meet up long before the Greyt Global Greyhound Day gathering but our late winter/early spring weather has not been cooperating on the Sunday mornings we have been looking at!
Sunday, June 9th is approaching fast so it will likely be the date of our second group walk of the year so far!
The Great Global Greyhound Day is a special day set aside worldwide to honour our retired racing greyhounds, their cousins, the Galgos of Spain and lurchers too! Walking clubs from all over the globe register with the organizers in Britain and their Facebook page tells many interesting stories of hounds and their families from far and wide.
Our walk will be at 11 am at the Ranch House area of Fish Creek Park SE. The parking lot and entrance we will use is the first right hand turn as you enter the park from the south end of Bow Bottom Trail SE. We can stop afterwards at Annie’s cafe for a drink or treat if desired.
Hope to see you there!
DATE AND TIME: SUNDAY June 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.
LOCATION: FISH CREEK PARK – Ranche House
DETAILS: Meet in the parking lot east of the red barn.
NOTE: The paths are all paved or dirt that are level so all four and two legged participants will be able to take part.
